We love a good crowdfunding campaign! There is nothing like joining forces with like-minded individuals to do something that otherwise, might not happen, or create something that might not have existed. This time it’s a subject close to our hearts (well, liver) – Beer!
Burger Kings’s bid to take over a grade II listed site on East Street, Brighton, was met with outrage, and a 11,500 strong petition against it. To prevent this happening, the guys over at Bison Beers have proposed an alternative solution – The Bison Arms. “A community based pub, funded, created, staffed and stocked by the people of Sussex, for the people of Sussex”.
The crowdfunding campaign started on November 27th as is well on its way to meeting its target. Crowdfunding means that even investors with budgets of just £50 can have still have share in the project. Tiered rewarding applies and those wishing to invest more, will receive greater benefits. Invest around £100 and get your name written on the wall and a 10% Discount card. Invest £10,000 and “Be the brewer – make a beer of your choice and see it being sold on your tap in a pub you’re invested in”.
